The Goddess Run is a community of women and girls who come together to celebrate their stories, goals, and challenges. Their mission is to inspire, educate and celebrate. This year the Van de Ruyt team joined over 13,000 other goddesses of all ages who have crossed the 10K finish line since 2012.
Drawing from her experience assisting her husband with the Sidney chapter of the Companions of the Quaich, Viola donated her time and expertise to host a Women Whiskey and Chocolate at a local law firm. This event facilitated meaningful team bonding paired with honest moments of mentorship.
Viola Van de Ruyt is serving as the 74th President of the Union Club of BC, making her only the 2nd woman President in the history of the Club.
The Union Club offers premier service, amenities, companionship, and exceptional comfort. And because of those virtues, the Club has consistently attracted a diverse and impressive membership – the type of community movers and shakers who have been at the heart of the business, political, and cultural life of Victoria from its early colonial beginnings.
Viola has been a general committee board member for several years, serving in many aspects from event planning to finance.
Viola has been a committee member and past president (2013-2019) of the Saanich peninsula Community Foundation since 2013 and has been volunteering with SPCF since the early 2000’s.
The Saanich Peninsula Community Foundation is committed to improving the quality of life on the Saanich Peninsula by promoting and increasing responsible, effective and accessible philanthropy.
Through donations, the foundation is able to serve the community in education, welfare, environment and health and recreation.
