Mervin was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. He is a graduate of the University of Regina having attained a Bachelor of Administration (Finance) degree. In 2001, Mervin became a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder - the gold standard of financial market expertise. After 22 years of working in Calgary, Mervin has also gained considerable experience in energy finance. In 2010, Mervin and his wife Dana, relocated to Victoria to raise their two children and experience new opportunities. Mervin enjoys outdoor activities, travelling, reading, and is a passionate student of the markets.
