Tom made a career shift in 1995 to financial services, after graduating from the University of Alberta as a Mechanical Engineer, and a first career in the energy industry throughout Canada (Shell – Sarnia and Burnaby, and Suncor - Fort McMurray), and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Living and working in Victoria had been a long-term goal for Tom and his wife Ann. Their children Rob and Keeley have recently flown the nest to live in Nova Scotia.
Tom is part of the competitive Dragon Boating fraternity, cycles to work, has helped Ann create a garden sanctuary, and also makes sawdust (both coarse and fine) in his spare time.
As a member of the Executive of the Victoria Chapter of APEGBC (the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC) since 1995, Tom has served as Speaker Coordinator and also as the Wealth Advisor to the Richard Talbot Memorial Fund.
